Last two weeks of July I spent in Łódź on PATA summer course of experimental textiles. It was ran by profesor Lidia Choczaj and her assistant Paulina Sadrak. 10 women from all over the world (France, Hong Kong, Slovenia, Ukraine, USA and Poland). It was time of hard creative work, but also fun and joy. It was a great plaesure to work in weaving studios with old, but still in use jacquard and heddle looms, vertical looms and frames of all size.
Meeting all the ladies (including the lecturers), watching their previous works, but also their way of thinking, creative proces and final results – it was a great source of inspiration.
On Tuesday started the final show in Kobro Gallery at Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. Apart from textile work there are works of participants from printmaking and comics courses. It will last till 15th August.
